Many of us are raised to make a life around our beliefs and nurture that life for the sake of them. But, if we are curious and brave, we come to learn that there are as many valid beliefs as there are people; there are many valid ways to move through the world and build a life. What’s more, as we open ourselves to others and to connections that are meant to challenge us and help us grow, we learn that some of our beliefs can be in conflict; when we value more than one viewpoint, it’s not uncommon to find ourselves stuck in between. You don’t have to rush transformation. You don’t have to be your future self at this very moment. Becoming is an operative word, and operations take time, skill, preparation — and the occasional assistant tech. Of course, the truth is that there’s really no forcing a natural process that relies on time and our ability to surrender to it. But, recognizing what you can’t rush isn’t about throwing your hands up or losing control. It’s about acknowledging the small things you can change to usher in the bigger changes around the corner. There are many tools that can be deployed to sustain one’s drive. Delayed gratification is certainly one of them, and it’s not uncommon for a Cancer rising to rely on the ache that waiting produces, an ache that often proves more tantalising than the reward. There’s nothing wrong with holding back on occasion, dear Cancer, nothing wrong with telling yourself that you or someone else has to “earn it.” But, it’s valuable to keep your goalposts in place and make sure that if you are withholding something until a desire is met, the meeting of that desire can be easily distinguished and delineated. You know what they say about the body: It really keeps the score. But, knowing that your corporeal reality can be a reflection of your emotional reality is hardly the same thing as approaching your daily life as if these things were true. Habits are hard to break, especially habits that have emerged as self-soothing techniques. Self-soothing is a necessary survival skill and sometimes those habits can feel like a key to our survival. Sometimes, when our body is ready for us to find new techniques and tools to self-soothe, it insists the only way it knows how: by rejecting the old ways physically. Money is a thing that can be so personal, even if it sounds (and, in most cases, IS) a little fake. Yes, money is just numbers on a screen and papers in your pocket, but it can really impact your self worth and limit your ability to feel free. Be extra-conscious of your relationship to money and the choices you make around that relationship. Being extra-conscious doesn’t just mean staying aware of splurging impulses or keeping abreast of your balances. Could it really be so surprising that, as your relationship to yourself, your appearance, and your values changes, so do your relationships? Isn’t it just the law of like-to-like that has you wanting to see your own growth and shifting beliefs reflected in those you love — or could love — one day? Your ambitions for yourself and your people are a huge part of what makes you you, and you should never have to apologise for them. That said, it’s important that you keep the assumptions you make about the values and preoccupations of others in check. Discernment is one thing and judgement another. Small things add up, if you let them. The little joys and sweetnesses, moments of harmony that feel like a bigger happiness, a truce between you and the things you would rather the world be. The small things can not and will not serve to displace whatever lives in you that wants something too big and all-consuming to face all at once. But they can turn down the pitch of the wanting, they can make it a background music rather than the defining score. It’s only right that who we surround ourselves with influences our self expression. It’s only right that the circle we cast widens how we view that circle and challenges our assumptions about who we are within it. And, it’s true that the more secure we feel, the greater the sense of belonging, the more likely we are to contribute our energy and our resources to the collective efforts and aspirations. It’s important for you to feel a sense of purpose, dear Pisces, to feel like what you are doing contributes to the wider community.
