Ryan Murphy’s empire spans not only genres, but also decades. To most, the showrunner is the brain behind beloved shows Glee, American Horror Story and Hollywood. However, the Ryan Murphy rolodex dates all the way back to 1999, meaning if you’ve finished one show, you ostensibly have over 20 years of other Murphy shows to catch up on.

In 2018, Murphy signed an approximate £240 million Netflix deal that went into effect after his long standing contract with 20th Century Fox TV expired. We’ve seen some of the results of that deal, including even more seasons of The Politician, the eerie show Ratched starring Sarah Paulson, with some in the works including the announcement of Jennifer Coolidge in an upcoming series about a stalker, The Watcher.

With hibernation season ahead, it’s time catch up on the full repertoire of the TV mogul. Do you want a show about high school rivalry? Plastic surgery? Singing nerds? Bitchy sorority sisters? Your options are seemingly endless.

Ahead is every Ryan Murphy show — and where to binge it.

Popular (1999-2001)

Other than its illegal uploads on YouTube or DVDs on Amazon, Ryan Murphy’s first series has been lost to the internet. Co-created by Gina Matthews, the show starred Leslie Bibb and Carly Pope as two socially-opposite teenagers forced to get along when their parents fall in love and get married.

Nip/Tuck (2003-2010)

Following Popular, Murphy scored a hit. The dark medical drama focused on a plastic surgery centre and its doctors, and how the professional so often becomes personal.

Glee (2009-2015)

Not only was Glee a fan favourite when it first came out in 2009, but it’s getting a second wave of interest thanks to TikTok. Every episode, the glee club at William Mckinley High serves fire covers of hit songs past and present. The covers are complemented by some absolutely absurd teenage drama.

American Horror Story (2011-Present)

Murphy took a complete left turn from high school theatre nerds to the twisted, gory world of American Horror Story. This anthology series adopts a new, deadly premise each season that will turn your stomach and may require you to palate cleanse with The Office after every episode.

The New Normal (2012-2013)

This Andrew Rannells-lead series lasted just one season, but told the unconventional story of a gay couple whose surrogate and her daughter move in with them for the duration of the pregnancy.

Scream Queens (2015-2016)

Not only did this series star Ariana Grande, but it also put Billie Lourd into the spotlight. It was short and sweet — just two seasons — but combined the unhinged antics of American Horror Story with the social hierarchies of college sororities for a story about a campus plagued by murder.

American Crime Story (2016-Present)

While Murphy took more of a backseat for this anthology series, the seasons still star people like Sarah Paulson and Darren Criss, exploring the murder trial of O.J. Simpson and Andrew Cunanan, respectively. The current season stars Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky and explores the impeachment of Bill Clinton.

Just one season of this anthology series exploring famous rivalries history has been made, but it stars Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange star as Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, so what else could you ask for?

9-1-1 (2018-Present)

Slightly off the beaten path for Murphy, 9-1-1 is a procedural drama about first responders such as police officers, firefighters, and dispatchers starring Angela Bassett and Peter Krause.
