best loungewear

There’s one thing you can be sure of: you’ll never regret your best loungewear, perfect for cosy days at home.

Opting for oversized tracksuits or knitwear when you’re dressed up to the nines the rest of the week will make the experience all the more special.

Last year, thanks to the national lockdown, it was one of the most-shopped categories (alongside walking boots), with retailers such as Vestiaire and Net-A-Porter seeing an increase in sales for loungewear of up to 70%.

So it comes as no surprise that brands have upped their game this season, offering mood-lifting colourful joggers and soft cashmere hoodies in an array of fashionable hues.

One step away from being in your actual pyjamas, loungewear can be both chic and comfortable, and that right there is the key. You can dress them up with some heels and a camel coat, or down with your favourite track sole boots and puffer coat on your daily walk.

You’ll be wearing your loungewear a lot, so do choose wisely. If money is no object, I recommend a lovely cashmere or knitted piece that will last you way beyond this winter.

On the more casual side of things, good quality cotton t-shirts, sweatshirts and tracksuit bottoms are always a good idea, and can look incredibly cool, just ask Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber.

I’m also a big fan of robes, which you can just throw over anything from a slip dress to pyjamas. If you’re a bit strapped for cash, then the good news is the high street has some excellent purse-friendly options.

Zara Home has an incredible loungewear line, as do Arket and COS – look out for the latter’s amazing take on a hoodie dress.
