Summer is almost upon us, which only means one thing, Love Island 2022 will be airing very soon. If, like us, you’ve been frantically searching for all the latest information on the popular dating show, you’ve come to the right place.

When does Love Island 2022 start?
The official start date has finally been confirmed, thank goodness. The first episode of the show will air on Monday 6th June, 2022. It usually lasts for around six to eight weeks, so we’d recommend cancelling any evening plans you may have during this time.
A source told The Sun: “Love Island is coming back with a bang and it will begin on the second full week in June.”
Who is hosting Love Island 2022?
TV presenter Laura Whitmore will be hosting the latest series, which will be her third time in a row. Although there were rumours of a new presenter, an ITV spokesperson confirmed to Metro.co.uk: “Laura will be returning to host the forthcoming series of Love Island.”

The show is still set to be held in Mallorca. However, it will take place in a brand new villa this year and we can’t wait to see what it looks like. Hopefully the famous fire pit and swimming pool will remain, but who knows what else will be in store…
Who are the Love Island 2022 contestants?
This year’s line-up of singletons has just been announced, making us even more excited for the first episode (a week today, by the way). From a Brighton-based fishmonger to a senior microbiologist, we can’t wait to see who will turn heads on the the eighth season of the show.
This is not the last time you are going to hear about Tasha Ghouri. The dancer and model is the first deaf contestant to enter the villa. Speaking about her upcoming stint on the show, Ghouri says that her friends and family think she is “inspirational” because of how open she is about her cochlear implant.
Is Gemma Owen ringing any bells? The 19-year-old from Chester is the daughter of former England striker Michael Owen. Gemma is an international dressage rider and business owner and who is set to bring a fighting streak to Mallorca. “I’ve competed for Great Britain since I was 11-years-old. I would say I’m very competitive,” she said.
Paige Thorne was the first contestant to be announced and she can’t wait to get on the Island. The paramedic loves how the television competition “brings everyone together”. Thorne also said: “I haven’t got to go out and I haven’t got to swipe. So, hopefully they can just come to me now!”
We all know how well a science-lover goes down on the Island – remember Dr Alex? That’s why we’re excited for a microbiologist to step foot in the villa. Dublin-born Dami Hope is ready for the highs and lows of Love Island: “I will be talking to different girls, it might not go well with some, might go well with others, so it’s a fun experience.”
Even though that’s only four of the starting 11, we can tell Love Island 2022 is going to be as juicy as ever.
