After last month’s Valentine’s Day celebrations, we’re firmly back in our ‘dressing up for the sake of it’ era. Putting on your statement coat for Sainsbury’s? Absolutely. Turning the dog walk into a chance to show off your new Docs? Highly recommended.
As we head into March, we’re sleuthing around the shops in search of the perfect spring ‘fit. We might not be ready to shake off the layers and smell the cherry blossom just yet but the closer we edge towards sunshine, the more we’re planning out our hypothetical outfits.
Whether you’re thinking about your first wedding of the season or simply wanting some inspiration for your next pub trip, we’ve got you covered.
To take a look at everything Team R29 is eyeing up for March, click through the slideshow ahead…

I very rarely buy jeans but when I do I have historically prioritised how they look when standing up over how they feel at the end of the day. This stops now! These Uniqlo baggy jeans are a great cut, colour and fit and still feel comfortable even after an incredibly ambitious day of eating. A new permanent staple.
Uniqlo Baggy Jeans, $, available at Uniqlo
I inherited a cornflower blue chore jacket from a beloved family member and I now wear it constantly. This isn’t quite as good as mine (which has a small flower print) but it hits the nail on the head style- and colour-wise.
Nudie Jeans Barney Worker Jacket Indigo Blue, $, available at Nudie Jeans
I was gifted this incredible dress to wear for my 30th birthday. Not only is it an absolute compliment factory but it has all my favourite ingenious details: a detachable inner slip, breathable but flattering waistband, stretch to the cuffs so you can roll up your sleeves when karaoke gets serious and, yes, pockets. Can’t recommend it enough.

Judging from my puffer and woolly hats on rotation, spring is not even remotely close to springing. But that doesn’t mean a girl can’t dream (or dress for the weather she wants). I love this knitted rainbow number, which I’ll be pairing with the baggiest bleach jeans, Converse and yes, my puffer.
Damson Madder Sunset Stripe Shirt, $, available at Damson Madder
I’ve been trying to be a lot more conscious with my shopping habits and that includes trying to pivot to being more selective and choosing slow fashion brands. Europe-based Solana Handmade operates on a made-to-order basis and I haven’t been able to scroll on TikTok without seeing this divine asymmetric top with inbuilt neck tie. To be swung dramatically over your shoulder, all year long.
If there’s one thing that will always pique my interest, it’s an accessory with a kitschy twist. My latest obsession is this dusky lilac crossbody. Is it a rugby ball? A UFO? A watermelon? All I know is I love it and I want it.

I’m already fully on the ribbon train so these delicate, hand-knitted mohair bows are a must in my book.

I think me and my shoulders need to finally admit defeat — this tote bag girly needs to get herself a proper, grown up backpack. The problem is, I’m not a big fan of a lot of what’s on the market; they’re either too big and bulky, too sleek and sporty to match my personal style, or just way too expensive. Ecosusi’s vintage-inspired leather designs are perfect. I love this warm maroon colour.
ECOSUSI Rosalind – Women’s Fashionable Backpack, $, available at ECOSUSI
I’m daydreaming about warmer weather and this, with the delicate lace details and soft green bow, just screams spring to me.

My love of cobalt is everlasting. This sheer dress paired with knee-high boots and a leather trench? Dreamy. Thankfully, this brand ships internationally.

Staying warm has become such a focus of mine in recent months that unless clothing looks cosy and comfy, I really don’t want it. But with spring right around the corner, you best believe I’ve not budgeted for yet another jumper. These socks are sure to be toasty, while the bold colour will bring a little joy to dull days. And coming in at under £20, who could say no?
COS Folded Colour-Block Wool Socks, $, available at COS
Bang on budget, this Kitri cherry knit hasn’t left my brain since I spotted it in our knitwear trends roundup. Following the same cosy and comfy vibe as the statement-making socks, it’s the perfect amount of cute and kitsch.
Kitri Ara Cherry Short Sleeve Knit Sweater, $, available at Kitri
I’ve just bought these jeans and they’re the best thing I’ve owned for a while. Seriously soft, they take the tightness out of ordinary denim and make my legs look as long as Claudia Schiffer’s. Okay, that may be an exaggeration, but paired with huge platform boots, it’s as close as I’m ever going to get.
Frame x Claudia Schiffer Le Hardy Wide-Leg Jeans, $, available at Matches Fashion

I love a cheeky cut-out – sue me! This top would take me through the many dinner-and-drinks plans I have on my agenda over the coming months.

I’ve been eyeing a pair of knee boots for a while now and these are a great option for nighttime events. They’ve been out of stock in my size for ages but I can’t wait to cop once they’re restocked. They’re available in black too, but I’m always looking for something bright and extra…

I recently lost a pair of my favourite earrings and these are a perfect replacement for everyday wear. The dainty pearl is an upgrade on a plain hoop and elevates any look.

I literally can’t say no to this shade of green for a trouser. It provides the perfect swing into spring for my wardrobe.

Seeing as we’ve been blessed with plenty of sunny winter days, I think it’s time to invest in a new pair of shades. I always seem to lose them or scratch them somewhere down the road so I never like to spend too much. I love the shape of these and the thick frames are cool.
& Other Stories Squared Thick Frame Sunglasses, $, available at & Other Stories
I’m going to have to shed my enormous, black, fluffy winter coat soon and I want to replace it with something equally as emo. This leather-look trench fits the bill perfectly.
Zara Long Faux Leather Coat, $, available at Zara
I’ve worn my Doc Martens to death and fancy treating myself to a nice pair of new boots. These would look cute paired with a mini dress when the weather gets warmer.

I know some would say it’s too early for open-back shoes but I beg to differ – at least when it comes to this pair by Charles & Keith. Worn with some cute socks, these square-toe, strappy shoes are perfect for spring and will transition even better into summer. I’m truly in love!
Charles & Keith Cleated Sole Ankle-Strap Shoes, $, available at Charles & Keith
I’m ready to replace some of my tighter fitting jeans, especially as we return to the office and I can no longer live in my trackies. I love the white stitching on this more relaxed pair. It’s a subtle detail but makes all the difference in my opinion.
Organic Basics Circular Denim Chino, $, available at Organic Basics
I’m pretty precious about my jacket collection and oh, how I wish this were a part of it. It’s definitely a statement but in the best way possible.

I’m off on my holidays and given that it’s been raining for 1,000 years in England, I’m worried about my pasty face finally seeing the sun. This organic denim bucket hat offers some cute protection with its customisable wide brim.
Damson Madder Daisy Denim Bucket Hat, $, available at Damson Madder
I’ve always wanted to get my second piercing but, quite frankly, I’m scared of needles. These double huggies give the illusion of more ear candy, which is exactly what I’m looking for.

Did I mention I’m going on holiday? This sustainable suit looks to be the perfect addition to my slowly growing swimwear collection.

These were under £100 when I bought them (they have now returned to £110) so forgive me for that but these are truly my new favourite shoes. Perfect heel height, great quality, a classic style reinvented with a square toe. I’m besotted.
Vagabond Jillian Loafer, $, available at Vagabond
I’m a sucker for a knit kit and I love the pleating details on this design from diving Tom Daley himself.
