The schools are back in session, which means a few things: Summer is unofficially over (although autumn technically starts on the 22nd), and it’s time for a fresh batch of monthly favourites, courtesy of R29’s savvy editors. This past August, our team celebrated the winding down of summer with plenty of transitional fashion, new autumnal perfumes and outfit-upgrading accessories galore.

Every month like clockwork, we corral the most life-changing purchases from our editors’ own order histories for your shopping enjoyment. Some rules apply: Our finds each have to ring in at £100 or less, and our nominations have to be a recent favourite that we discovered in the previous month or so. While a hundred quid definitely isn’t a trifle, it’s a smart price point for quality goods that are an investment, but not one that totally breaks the bank. And while fashion and beauty are our bread and butter, our monthly favourites are the perfect place to really get to know our team, like what toothbrush is changing our dental game, our cool phone cases, and much more.

From the hold-all makeup bag to the cashmere knit vest that’ll take us straight into peak autumn, we proudly present the following 23 MVPs (aka Most Valuable Products) that our editors couldn’t get enough of last month.

All linked products are independently selected by our editors. If you purchase any of these products, we may earn a commission.

FP Movement Ribbed Baby Tee, £34

“After two decades of avoiding cropped T-shirts, I am back in my baby tee era, partially thanks to this FP Movement style. While it’s marketed as a workout top, I’ve been wearing it as an everyday top on repeat all summer, with everything from silk maxi skirts to linen trousers and wide-leg jeans. I just love the ribbed fabric and the rolled-sleeve and waistline detailing.” – Irina Grechko, Fashion Director

Cider x Polly Pocket Imagine This Jumpsuit Curve & Plus, £36.90

“Last month, I tried a few pieces from the Cider x Polly Pocket collaboration, and the heart-print, wide-leg overalls is my favourite look from the line. I sized up from my regular 2XL (22); the bottom half fit comfortably in a size 3XL (24), if a bit snug, and the length was just right for my height (5’4” and a half). I would recommend sizing up at least one full size in all of the pieces in the collection, or two sizes if you have a fuller bust. I appreciate that the overall straps are adjustable, with three built-in button holes to accommodate different bust sizes and torso lengths. My one qualm is that there are no side pockets — just the one big pocket on the bib of the overalls. I paired this jumpsuit with a pink crop top and baby blue ballet flats this time, but I also love the idea of contrasting the sweetness with chunky black combat boots and a long-sleeve fishnet tee.” — Sarah Chiwaya, Contributing Plus-Size Columnist

Dr. Jart+ Premium BB Beauty Balm SPF 50, £37 £29.60

“I’ve gotten through three bottles of this and have just ordered my fourth — it truly is the best base product I’ve ever tried (and that’s saying something when your job is literally testing products every day!). It ticks every single box: It’s an ultra-hydrating combination of moisturiser, makeup, and sunscreen. It evens and colour corrects your skin tone beautifully (so no need for concealer). And it nourishes (thanks to niacinamide), protects (with SPF 50), and leaves you with a natural, weightless dewy finish.” — Esther Newman, Affiliate Writer & Content Producer

Anthropologie XL Pop Tab Necklace, £58

“I’m a gold jewellery girl through and through, but don’t own too many gold statement necklaces, so when I found this oversized tab style, I knew I needed to add it to my collection. I think this chunky necklace will be the ultimate autumn jewellery style, especially to pair with V-neck vests and turtlenecks. The extra-large lobster clasp is also a big plus for me, because I often struggle clasping on dainty chains with my long nails!” — Victoria Montalti, Associate Fashion Writer

Lululemon Daily Multi-Pocket Canvas Tote Bag Tennis Club, £48

“Lululemon recently launched a limited-edition Tennis Club collection timed perfectly to the start of the US Open. I’ve been a tennis girl since about the age of 10, so I felt the urge to scoop up this classic-looking tote, which is perfect to throw a racket in for an afternoon hit or just general city schlepping. The bag is really roomy and durable, and includes an internal pocket for small items like keys and lip balm.” — Kate Spencer, Senior Affiliate Partnerships Manager

We The Free Libre Wide-Leg Jeans, £88

“Do you know how long it’s taken for me to find wide-leg jeans that I don’t have to hem? That don’t gape in all the wrong places? That actually fit, proportionally, to my 5’2 frame? Finally, Free People’s own denim line, We The Free, have answered my prayers with their shorter 32-inch inseam collection. This pair in particular have lots of stretch to them and are so comfy — I wore them on a 3-hour train journey, no problem. Petite friends, get yourself down to Free People!” — Esther Newman, Affiliate Writer & Content Producer

By Rosie Jane Rosie Eau de Parfum, £65

“I’m very particular about my perfumes. I usually go for more floral and fresh-smelling perfumes, but I wanted to try Rosie from By Rosie Jane because I have heard wonderful things about the brand. This vegan and cruelty-free scent is composed of nude musk and sweet rose notes and is the perfect daily fragrance. I have gotten compliments each time I’ve worn it, and highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new scent to wear this autumn.” — Becca Sax, Affiliate Coordinator

Skims Fits Everybody Crossover Bralette, £34

“As soon as I tried my first Skims bralette several years ago, I’ve never looked back. My go-to has always been the Fits Everybody Scoop Bralette, but more recently I’ve fallen in love with the crossover version. It’s just as comfortable as the scoop, but has a more traditional triangle shape and hook and eye closer, making it the perfect easy bralette to wear under sheer summer tops or everyday T-shirts. The crossover style feels really supportive without being tight or uncomfortable, plus the Fits Everybody material is super soft and flexible, and there are no sharp edges or scratchy corners that would cut into your skin.” — Kate Spencer, Senior Affiliate Partnerships Manager

Charlotte Tilbury Makeup Bag, £34

“As a beauty editor, I have tried many, many different makeup bags and I can confidently say that not all are created equal. I have my favourites and this one from Charlotte Tilbury might just be at the top of my list. It features six different compartments, so you can easily organize all of your different products. I think that it also helps protect your products better because they aren’t slipping and sliding around as much! On top of the optimal storage, the bag itself is super cute — it comes in a Pillow Talk pink and features the brand’s iconic lip design. I take this with me wherever I go!” — Sara Tan, Beauty Director

Merit Flush Balm Cream Blush, £32

“I haven’t heard a single bad thing about products from Merit Beauty, and all the beauty writer and creator friends I know rave about the Flush Balm the most. After testing it out for myself, I am now totally sold on the hype. The colour payoff is amazing and you get such a gorgeous flush in just one quick swoosh on your cheekbones. The colour Cheeky, a cool pink, is going to be my default blush this autumn.” — Venus Wong, Senior Writer

Everlane The Silky Cotton Way-Short Shirt, £83

“I love the idea of a chic Oxford but all too often, they read as stuffy and (literally) overly buttoned-up. I actually borrowed this shirt while visiting my twin sis, but knew I needed to buy one for myself as soon as I put it on. It’s the perfect, breezy button-down that actually looks cool, not like I borrowed it from my mum’s office wardrobe. I love to wear it with slip dresses or alone with jorts, since the soft, lightweight cotton has a bit of drape and effortless ease to it. I’ll definitely be buying more colours since it’s a perfect transitional item as we go into autumn.” — Karina Hoshikawa, Senior Writer

Real Techniques Miracle 2-In-1 Dual Sided Powder Puff, £5

“I found this dual-sided puff and thought it was the perfect way to streamline my already minimal makeup routine, because I could just flip the puff depending on what product I’m working with. The puff is a good size, too, about the size of a palm, so I can use different creams or powders on each side and not worry about cross-contaminating colours.” — Becca Sax, Affiliate Coordinator

Uniqlo C Cashmere Crew Neck Short Jumper, £59.90

“Over the years, I’ve found Uniqlo’s designer collaborations to have some of the best 100% cashmere options for the most reasonable price. The newest Uniqlo: C collection, in collaboration with Claire Waight Keller, includes some of my favourite knits from her initial drop last year, like this cashmere shell tank. It’s such a good staple to wear as a transitional piece from summer to autumn and elevates any simple look, while adding some texture. On warmer days, I’ve styled it with a skirt or trouser shorts, but wear it often with jeans and boots (shown here). I’m also a fan of the coordinating cardigan, which is also just under £100.” — Kate Spencer, Senior Affiliate Partnerships Manager

Lancôme Juicy Tubes Original Lip Gloss

“When it comes to the lip gloss hall of fame, Lancôme’s Juicy Tubes are in a league of their own. They’ve been around since the early aughts, but are still among the best glosses you can buy today, IMO. My favorite shade is Hallucination, a gorgeous honey beige with fine golden sparkle. It looks great on its own or layered on top of a nude lip pencil.” — Karina Hoshikawa, Senior Writer

Victoria’s Secret Daring Body Mist, £22

“I recently did a roundup of body mists, and this Victoria’s Secret one emerged as one of my favourites. At £22 for a generously sized 250 ml bottle, it’s among the more affordable perfumes in my collection, but you would never know from how elevated it smells. I’m partial to Victoria’s Secret’s latest fragrance, Daring, which is a fresh yet sensual blend of amber, oakmoss, and bright bergamot notes. I’ll be spritzing this all autumn long.” — Karina Hoshikawa, Senior Writer

Tubby Todd Wash and Lotion Bundle

“Ask any new mom about their baby’s skincare routine and they’ll likely tell you that Tubby Todd is part of their arsenal. The brand’s signature All Over Ointment is a must-have for any newborn’s skin issues and after falling in love with the product, I was intrigued to see what else the brand had to offer. I was delighted but not surprised to learn that their body wash and body lotions are also incredible! We swear by the Tubby Todd Wash and Lotion Bundle for bath time. We love the calming lavender and rosemary scent and how hydrating and soothing the formula is. It is never irritating, even for babies with the most sensitive skin. I also appreciate that it comes in 25 fluid ounces so it lasts me two to three months! Even better, adults can totally use it, too.” — Sara Tan, Beauty Director

Avaline Lambrusco

“If you ask me, lambrusco is highly underrated. It’s got the richness and flavor of a red, with the lightness and bubbles of a sparkling wine. Avaline wines have long been a favorite of mine since they’re low in sugar, made from organically farmed grapes, and not too pricey while being a major step up from grocery store stuff. Avaline debuted a new lambrusco this summer, and dare I say it’s giving rosé a run for its money as the longstanding warm-weather vino of choice? It’s not too sweet but still has a hint of fruit-forward flavor, and is sure to impress the oenophile in your friend group when you bring it to your next hang. It’s $30 but is giving expensive, special-occasion bottle for sure.” — Karina Hoshikawa, Senior Writer

Suri Sustainable Electric Toothbrush, £75

“I always forget to pack my electric toothbrush in my suitcase, so I have resorted to getting an extra one just for my trips. This green Suri toothbrush keeps my teeth sparkling clean and has a very impressive battery life of 40 days. The sleek waterproof design is perfect for travel, and I recommend paying extra for the slim case, which cleans the brush with UV light and charges the device while it sits inside the box.” — Venus Wong, Senior Writer

Love, Bonito Katrine Padded Tiered Maxi Dress

“The summer might be over, but I still find myself reaching for this breezy Love, Bonito sundress on repeat. I love the endorphin-inducing kelly green color, and the dramatic puffy sleeves are balanced by a delicate, low-cut tieback. The best part? The dress has a padded bust, so I can go braless; the side pockets are very handy, too.” — Venus Wong, Senior Writer

Victoria Beckham Beauty Posh Balm, £30

“If, like me, you always prefer a lip balm over a true lip gloss, this Posh Balm from Victoria Beckham Beauty is kind of the best mix of both. The formula is hydrating without being sticky — in other words, your hair won’t get caught on your mouth when a gust of wind blows — and the product comes in a few colourways that add a subtle tint to your lips. I’m also a huge fan of the packaging. The tube is heavy and substantial, but still small and thin compared to most other balms out there. It’s really the most satisfying to apply and easy to slip into a small bag pocket or purse.” — Kate Spencer, Senior Affiliate Partnerships Manager

Urban Sophistication x Bratz The Puffer Case, £70

“I’ve always wanted an Urban Sophistication phone case (the puffer ones are honestly so fun and unique) but have held off — until now. As a child of the aughts, I have a very sentimental place in my heart for Bratz, so when I saw this collab, I knew I needed a part of it. Out of the OG girls with a passion for fashion, I always likened myself to a Jade, but something about this angelic Cloe case resonated with me. I love the glossy, barely blue hue and the adorable angel wings peeking out from the top. The case itself is sturdy and protective, and feels great in my hand. I’ve already gotten a ton of compliments on it.” — Karina Hoshikawa, Senior Writer

Burt’s Bees Natural Overnight Intensive Lip Treatment in Moonlight Orchard

“It seems like every beauty brand has a lip mask these days, but some can cost a pretty penny (I’m looking at you, La Mer). That’s why I was so excited to learn that Burt’s Bees launched its own lip treatment recently and in my opinion, the formula rivals the buzziest lip masks out there. It’s made with squalane, hyaluronic acid, and bakuchiol, so it keeps your lips super hydrated, while also working to strengthen your lips’ overall skin barrier. It keeps my pout super soft overnight. I love that it’s also under $20!” — Sara Tan, Beauty Director

Saie Glossybounce High-Shine Hydrating Lip Gloss Oil, £18

Lip oils take the cake as my favourite beauty product of the moment, and Saie’s bestselling lip oil in the shade Bounce never fails to win me compliments. I often wear this rosy mauve colour on days I am doing an understated makeup look but still want to draw attention to my lips. The glossy formula is long-wearing without feeling too sticky.” — Venus Wong, Senior Writer

Beekman 1802 Oh! Mega Milk Lip Oil

“As someone who does minimal makeup, I consider lip products an essential part of my everyday routine — I usually throw on some blush, do my eyebrows, and swipe on a good lip gloss or color to match my outfit. This month, I really like Beekman 1802’s Oh! Mega Milk Lip Oil. This gorgeous formula is so silky, nourishing and lightweight, and my lips are left luscious and with a pretty hint of sheen. And no stickiness at all!” — Becca Sax, Affiliate Coordinator
