Ever since Jeffree Star announced that he would be releasing his first ever eyeshadow palette, every makeup lover (and that includes me) went gaga for it. Especially when he first showed off what’s inside of the palette on his YouTube channel. And not just that, he also added some glow in his makeup line – big size compacts of highlighters.

Jeffree Star Beauty Killer Palette And Skin Frost Review

Pros

For Beauty Killer eyeshadow palette:

  • pigmentation is good with an eyeshadow primer
  • blendable
  • did not stain my eyelids when I took it off

For Peach Goddess highlighter:

  • pigmentation is fantastic
  • texture is great; it doesn’t clump up on the dry areas of my face
  • longevity is good

Cons

For Beauty Killer eyeshadow palette:

  • most shades have a frosty finish and I prefer mattes
  • the matte shades have less pigmentation and chalky
  • frosty shades aren’t that easy to work with and doesn’t have a nice texture

For Peach Goddess highlighter:

  • I love it so much that I have nothing bad to say about this item.
  • Overall, Jeffree Star did an awesome job on adding these products in his cosmetic line.

The only stars I could reach and get my hands on

I admit that I like to experiment with eyeshadows, from different types, shades, and finishes, I gotta try them all. So when I saw the shades of Jeffree’s eyeshadow palette, I immediately thought I should have it. However, I was also kind of hesitant because the bright shades might not fit my tan skin.

Packaging | Jeffree Star Beauty Killer Palette And Skin Frost Review

The packaging of the Jeffree Star Beauty Killer Palette is slim and it comes with a mirror. The palette has ten gorgeous shades with different finishes – matte, frost, and glitter. I love that the shade names are printed on the palette, it’s easy to know what shade I’m using.

I’ve swatched the shades on my arm without an eyeshadow primer. The pigmentation of the eyeshadows was not as nice as I expected it to be based on how vibrant the shades were on the packaging. The pigmentation was okay even without any primer but it was nothing special compared to the other brands.

For this look, I primed my eyes with Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I used China White for the base. The shades Courtney and Violence were used as transition colors on my crease. I filled my lids with Ritch Bitch and I used Confession on the outer V and the lower lashline. To highlight the inner corners of my eyes, I used the shade, Princess. The primer helped with the application and the pigmentation. There were fewer fall outs and the color appeared more vibrant.

I like that most of the eyeshadow shades from the Jeffree Star Beauty Killer Palette were easy to work with except for Ritch Bitch, a metallic finish with a chunky texture. I, however, was able to work with it by spritzing some E.l.f. Studio Makeup Mist & Set.

In addition to the Jeffree Star Beauty Killer Palette, I also got one of the highlighters from the brand. I chose the shade Peach Goddess from the Skin Frost highlighter line. It comes with a very large pink plastic compartment. I recommend this shade for those who have a medium skin tone like mine.

The texture of this highlighter is extremely buttery. It’s denser compared to the other highlighters I own. I had been using this highlighter for a few times now and I can say that its longevity is superb. While it slightly faded after 6 hours of wear, it still looks good and I did not see the need of retouch.

I applied it slightly above my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, and on my cupid’s bow.
