I recently did a review on the Kyshadow Bronze Palette and I thought it would be a perfect Homecoming Makeup palette to use.

I love prom and homecoming season because everyone gets dolled up and are looking gorgeous. Every once in a while people are entitled to some pampering and beautifying and so I gladly welcome any season that harbors that.

I initially thought I’d create a more striking look, something more extravagant, but I decided more girls would be able to relate and recreate a look that is just elegant and put together, so using the browns and bronze in the Kyshadow palette, I created this sexy bronze homecoming makeup look for brown eyed babe, but absolutely anyone can rock this especially since I’m using a universal palette. It’s quite easy, just keep in mind makeup is supposed to be fun, you can tweak it to your own desire or you can stay absolutely strict in following the steps here.

Get glammed and looking elegant with this sexy homecoming makeup look I did with the use of the Kylie Kyshadow palette. If you have this palette go ahead and recreate your own, but for those who have a different palette tweak some and don’t forget to have fun!

Start with A Clean Base

Start With A Clean Base | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Before applying makeup make sure your face is clean, toned, and moisturized.

Step 1: Primer

Step 1: Primer | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

There are times when your skin won’t need a primer, a moisturizer will do – which means the skin is in good condition. In my case, I tend to have a lot of tiny red spots and dark areas so I used an illuminating primer with micro pigments that cancel out the redness. The primer I used is not really a primer, it is a Photography Fluid from NIOD by Deciem, it cancels out redness and I find that it also holds product really well.

You can get the NIOD Photography Fluid here at Amazon!

Step 2: Prime The Eyes

Step 2: Prime The Eyes | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

We are priming the eyes first because we’re doing the eyes initially. I used Duraline by Inglot, which is not really a primer, it is a mixing fluid that creates a liquid consistency for cream and powdered products, it also makes it waterproof. I like using it as a primer because it adheres to the product really well it also creates a more vivid payoff for most products I’ve used it with, so far. If you haven’t used Inglot’s Duraline, I’m telling you should! It’s available at Amazon as well.

Step 3: Create a Velvety Base

Step 3: Create a Velvety Base Using Jasper| Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

I’m starting out with Jasper and sweeping it all over the lid just to create a velvety base, it will make blending the eyeshadow easier later on.

Step 4: Transition Color

Step 4: Transition Color | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Step 4: Transition Color Tiger Eye| Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

I’m picking up the shade Tiger Eye, which is a brown color with hints of orange to it and I’m making this my transition color, sweeping it above the crease and outer corners. This will also give my eyes I bit of a dimension since most of the colors I’m using are flat browns

Step 5: Dimension To The Eye

Step 5: Dimension To The Eye | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Step 5: Dimension To The Eye in Citrine | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

I’m going in with Citrine which is an orange color and sweeping the product across the lid, concentrating most on the corners. This will create more dimension on the eyes so it does not look like a flat brown color.

Step 6: Create Depth

Step 6: Create Depth | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Step 6: Create Depth in Shade Bronzite | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Using Bronzite, a dark brown color, I’m going to open up my eyes by applying on the outer corner blending it to the center of the lid. I will also bring the product slightly up to bring the eye up especially since my brow area is a bit droopy.

Step 7: Open Up The Eye

Step 7: Open Up The Eye using Goldstone | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

After working on the corners, I then go ahead and pick up Goldstone, a bronze satin finish and put that on the lid. You can build it up if you want depending on how much you want it to be seen. I’m opting for just a hint of glimmer here.

Step 8: Blend

Step 8: Blend | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Don’t forget to blend all the harsh edges.

Step 9: Highlight Inner Corner

Step 9: Highlight Inner Corner | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Step 9: Highlight Inner Corner in Quartz | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

I’m going in with the shade Quartz, which is a Champagne satin finish and I’m putting it just in the inner corners to help the eye pop out more.

Step 10: Transition on the Lower Lash

Step 10: Transition on the Lower Lash | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

I’m going back in with the shade Tiger Eye to create a base on the lower lash area, sweeping it across the entire lower lash.

Step 11: Smoke Out Lower Lash

Step 11: Smoke Out Lower Lash with Bronzite| Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Picking up Bronzite with a pencil brush, I’m going to create a depth to the corners of my eye by concentrating the product on the outer corner bringing it ever so slightly to the middle. I will also bring it up towards the outer corner of the upper lid to create a V shape depth to it. This will help in trying to bring up my eye to make it look more opened up.

Step 12: Hint of Shimmer

Going back in with the shade Goldstone, I apply that to the center of the lower lash to compliment the glimmer on the upper lid.

Step 13: Highlight Inner Corner

Using the shade Quartz, I go ahead and apply it on the inner corner of the lower lash to bring the highlight inward.

Step 14: Tightline

Step 14: Tightline | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

I’m going to Tightline my eyes, which means that I will apply a liner to the upper lash tightly to cover up the spaces, creating fuller lashes. I’m using Eye of Horus in Brown for this.

Step 15: Clean the Excess Product

Step 15: Clean the Excess Product | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Using a cotton swab dipped in moisturizer or remover, I sweep off the excess colors under the eye and on the outer corners.

Step 16: Apply Eyeliner

Step 16: Apply Eyeliner | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

I took a L’oreal Gel Liner in Profound Black and created dainty wings on the outer corners. I like applying gel liner using a fine point craft brush which you can find in many craft/art shops.

Step 17: Add False Lashes

Step 17: Add False Lashes | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Before adding False Lashes, don’t forget to curl your lashes and apply mascara. This will help your lashes blend in with the falsies, every homecoming makeup look needs a false lash for added effect.

Step 18: Fill in Brows

Step 18: Fill in Brows | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz brow pencil, I filled in my brows using feathery strokes to create the illusion of natural hair.

Step 19: Apply Foundation

Step 19: Apply Foundation | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

When you are satisfied with the eye look, apply foundation on your face evenly. Here, I used Make Up For Ever Ultra HD foundation applied with a Beauty Blender. I find that applying a medium coverage foundation with a beauty blender is the best way to maximize its coverage.

Step 20: Conceal

Step 20: Conceal | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Most of the time, foundation can conceal unwanted marks, however, my undereye needs coverage so I’m coming in with Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in shade Honey just to cover the darkest points of my under eye. I’m using a concealer buffing brush to do that.

Step 21: Set

Step 23: Set | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Dust a translucent powder all over the face to set your makeup. I’m using RCMA No Color Powder for this. I find this the best translucent powder because it absolutely does not alter the foundation shade  you used and it doesn’t show up on camera.

Step 22: Contour

Step 24: Contour | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

In this scenario, I’m only contouring my nose line. I like the makeup not to look too heavy so I do away with contours on my cheeks. Plus the fact that I already have a narrow face.

Step 23: Blush

Step 25: Blush | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

I’m applying Mary Kay Blush in Shy Blush which is a very good dupe for Nars Orgasm and sweeping that to the cheek area. The bits of shimmer acts as highlights to the cheek area adding dimension to the face, perfect for an age appropriate homecoming makeup look.

Step 24: Color Your Lips

Step 26: Color Your Lips | Homecoming Makeup Tutorial For Brown Eyes Using Kylie Kyshadow Palette

Using the Colourpop Lip Pencil in Aquarius, I line the entire lip and apply it all over. This finishes our homecoming makeup look tutorial.
