It was for a relative’s wedding and my mom whisked me off to have a makeup artist work her magic. She opened a big box of what struck me as a magical chest of colors. It had eyeshadow palettes, row upon row of eyelashes, and a whole section devoted to MAC lipsticks. I also remember her making me smile so that she could see the apples of my cheeks, which she then dusted on with blush color. That’s when I knew what one of my favorite parts of makeup was.
