Miley Cyrus announced her comeback on Monday, unveiling the cover of her upcoming visual album, “Something Beautiful,” on social media. As one has learned to expect from the singer, fashion is taking front seat on the project, which will be released on May 30.

For her new cover, Cyrus was photographed by British fashion photographer and film director Glen Luchford, who has worked with Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Calvin Klein, Gucci and other luxury brands. The singer is wearing an archival piece from Thierry Mugler’s fall 1997 couture collection, titled “Les Chimères,” which translates to “Mythical Creatures.”

Cyrus’ look is ethereal. She wears a web-like headpiece with spiky extensions and iridescent elements, channeling a futuristic aesthetic. Her dress was constructed from a network of branching filaments that create a ghostly, organic silhouette.

The dress and the headpiece were worn by German fashion model Diana Gartner on Mugler’s fall 1997 runway show in Paris. The collection was later part of the “Thierry Mugler: Couturissime” exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum.
