There’s nothing quite as human as our yearning to make meaningful connections, and staying in touch is necessary now more than ever. With the world thrown into isolation this year, technology has been a saving grace for so many young creatives across the globe. Now, HUAWEI has made it even easier to share, create and make ties in just One Tap through the HUAWEI P40 Pro smartphone. This technology allows users to seamlessly connect their phone to other devices like the WATCH GT2, FreeBuds 3, MatePad Pro and MateBook X Pro by simply tapping the P40 Pro to it.

While it’s undoubtedly a challenge for us to stay in touch with our loved ones, colleagues and collaborators in the flesh right now, life has definitely been made a little easier with tech. We spoke to four young creatives working and living all across the globe about how they have been using HUAWEI Share technology in their lives, and why it’s more important now than ever before to stay connected to each other.

Dancing and making others feel good with Valentina Vernia

Valentina is a professional dancer from Italy and while the world closed its doors, she’s been busy. Not only did she continue dancing at home but she stood up and protested in the streets for Black liberation.

Transferring files from her HUAWEI P40 Pro to the HUAWEI MateBook X Pro is usually no simple task for a woman on the go. “I always lose my patience so I think that HUAWEI created something perfect for people like me. It’s fast, simple and it gives me the chance to work with a wider vision of what I’m creating.”

One Tap technology is a dream for those much-needed lazy days. “I can video call using both devices and if I leave my phone in another room and I need it, I can be lazy in bed using it on the laptop,” she says. “It’s amazing!” But far beyond the practicalities, this technology has created a sense of community for people feeling the effects of isolation. “This is the blessing of technology,” Valentina adds. “Making people feel good when they feel alone.”

If she could, Valentina would use HUAWEI Share technology for charity. Sadly, she says, people “don’t donate just because the process is long” but what if we could offer money, food, water or even clothes to anyone through a simple tap? “What if there is a button where you just write what you want to give and where in the world, connected safely to your bank account?”

Calling up friends to share a new beauty look with Dina Sharif

Makeup artist Dina Sharif creates bold looks with a touch of glamour, sharing beauty tips and tutorials with her community online. From her home in the UAE, Dina has been staying virtually connected with other creators and friends around the world, simply by using video calls on her HUAWEI P40 Pro smartphone and HUAWEI FreeBuds 3. Work and leisure have become “so much easier and more convenient” now.

And because HUAWEI Share technology has sped up her work time, she can spend more valuable hours doing the things that matter most in life. “It helped me finish work faster and motivated me to socialise more,” Dina says. It’s even helped her to brainstorm and come up with dynamic creative ideas for her new brand.

Motivating each other to work out with Ariadna Tapia

For Ariadna Tapia, a fashion and lifestyle blogger based in Barcelona, staying connected is all about those human bonds. “What makes me feel connected with someone is when you feel understood by them, it’s the best feeling you can have.”

In regards to work-life, the balance couldn’t be simpler: Ariadna can harness technology to stay in touch with friends, work efficiently and even use it for that all-important downtime. “I use the HUAWEI Share technology when working out at home,” says Ariadna. “I connect and disconnect the HUAWEI Sound X speaker easily with the HUAWEI P40 Pro in just One Tap, without having to move. Also, it’s so useful [for] connecting with friends. It makes everything more dynamic.”

While we can’t do everything in just One Tap, if Ariadna could send anything across the world it would be physical affection. “I would send hugs to people, I think it’s something more necessary than it seems. And after this year, we all need hugs.”
Seeing the world from someone else’s perspective with Primrose Ch

“I have used the HUAWEI Share technology for my working projects, transferring my videos from the HUAWEI P40 Pro to the HUAWEI Matebook X Pro,” explains Primrose Ch, who lives and works in Thailand. “The steps are very quick, easy and super useful.” It’s even changed the way she edits her photos and videos for work. “An image taken through my phone could be edited by the laptop, in just One Tap,” she says.

If Primrose could share this tech with anyone, it would be to connect with people living in remote areas in the world, who know very little about us and vice versa. “I would like to pass on the technology to the people living on an isolated island where nobody has ever visited,” Primrose says. “It would be interesting to share something unseen by the world, and let others know how they survive each day in their lives.”

Like what you see? How about some more R29 goodness, right here?
